The walk will explore the geology of the park, along with its abundant native floral inhabitants, including poppies, shooting stars and lupine.
Chipping is a professor of geology at Cal Poly and conservation chairman of the San Luis Obispo Chapter of the California Native Plant Society.
The walk is fairly easy. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and sunscreen and/or a hat. A box lunch from Indigo Moon in Cambria is included in the $40 cost. Participants must provide their own transportation to the park or call Greenspace to carpool.
