Cal Poly professor to speak on Islam in Cambria

Cal Poly professor Stephen Lloyd Moffett will speak on “The Crescent, the Cross, the Flag: Is Islam Compatible With American-Style Democracy?” at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Joslyn Center during the general meeting of the Cambria Forum.

Moffett’s address kicks off the group’s fall schedule of programs, which continues with the beginning of a six-week presentation/discussion on the size of government, federalism, health care, our educational system, social welfare, and our environmental policies. The text for the series, which begins at 10 a.m. Oct. 17 at the Joslyn Center, is “Falling in Love with America, Again” by Jim DeMint of the Heritage Foundation.
