Three proposals to handle recruitment for a new superintendent for Coast Unified School District are due for presentation Wednesday to district trustees.
The previous superintendent, Chris Adams, left the district after five years in September to take a job with the Association of California School Administrators in Sacramento. Adams was earning a salary of about $168,000 at Coast Unified.
Richard Malfatti, an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University and retired school-district superintendent, is serving as interim superintendent this school year.
Coast Unified has a total of about 740 students at four campuses, including grammar and middle school students from Cambria and San Simeon. Its high schools serve those areas, plus Cayucos. The annual district budget is about $12.3 million.
