Cambria volunteers provided about 700 free meals to Thanksgiving Day diners at the festive annual community dinner sponsored by Cambria Vineyard Church, other congregations, individuals and groups. According to coordinator Daun Putney, nearly 70 of those meals were delivered by volunteers from the church who take the holiday dinners to shut-ins who are unable to attend.

The rest were served up at the Veterans Memorial Building in a convivial atmosphere of socializing and reunions.

Putney reports the event’s grocery list included 34 large turkeys, 78 pies, 290 pounds of mashed potatoes and other classical components of the traditional holiday meal. Approximately 115 volunteers worked on the day of the event, and others prepared the food.
