The Piedras Blancas Light Station offers a special “Peek at the Past” tour Saturday in celebration of National Lighthouse Day, which marks the Aug. 7 anniversary of President George Washington signing the Lighthouses Act in 1789.
Guides and assistants will be dressed in period attire for the special tour. There will be historical enactments, giving visitors a glimpse of life at the light station in the 1890s.
The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6 through 17, and free for ages 5 and under.
The lighthouse, completed in 1875, is 15 miles north of Cambria, just west of Highway 1.
