Cambria Grammar School really needs some energetic, enthusiastic parents and friends to head up the campus Parent- Teachers Association (PTA).
Some supporters fear that if new leaders can’t be found, the PTA won’t exist in the 2012-13 school year. “It will be really sad after 40 some years for there not to be a PTA,” DeDe Basile wrote in an email to The Cambrian. “Especially in these tight budget times, PTA provides so much for not only the students, but the teachers and the school.”
Anyone who would consider volunteering or who has questions about PTA is asked to call Marisol Poteete (who is bilingual) at 927-3880 and leave a message for a PTA representative who will explain the time commitment and duties of the positions that need filling: president, vice president, room rep coordinator, parliamentarian and bi-lingual representatives to translate at meetings and provide PTA information to non-English-speaking families.
