The annual Coastal Discovery Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at William Randolph Hearst Memorial Beach, about 8 miles north of Cambria and across Highway 1 from the entrance to Hearst Castle.
The free fair takes place by the Coastal Discovery Center at San Simeon Bay, an environmental visitor information center cooperatively managed by Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and State Parks’ San Luis Obispo Coast District.
About 20 public and private agencies, including San Luis Obispo Turtle Rescue and the Pacific Wildlife Care, are expected to participate. Kid-friendly activities include creating and operating remote-controlled underwater robots, making crafts, visiting with live animals and meeting “Sammy the Steelhead.”
Food will be available for purchase. Free parking will be available in the parking lot at the Hearst Castle Visitor Center, with shuttle bus service to the fair.
