With potentially controversial issues that include desalination or other new sources of water, the possible secession of Cayucos from the Coast Unified School District, a pending joint-powers agreement between the Cambria services and healthcare districts and budget woes all around, this local campaign season could be a hotly contested one.
Seats up for election in North Coast races include:
Cambria Community Services District: Board President Allan MacKinnon and directors Muril Clift and Gail Robinette;
Coast Unified School District: Board President Cindy Fratto and trustees Robert Gong and Victoria Dandurand;
Cambria Community Healthcare District: Board President Kristi Jenkins and Trustee Greg Bates; and
San Simeon Community Services District: Vice Chairman Ralph McAdams, directors Leroy Price, Alan Fields (four-year terms) and a vacancy left by the resignation of Terry Lambeth (two-year term).
No incumbents have publicly announced yet if they’ll run for reelection.
