The local election season is coming, too: Candidates can start filing on July 16.
Four of five seats on the San Simeon Community Services District Board of Directors will be up for election in November.
That also means that, following the June 17 resignation of Terry Lambeth, the board will operate one director short through the election, according to staff.
There will be three four-year seats up for election (currently held by directors Leroy Price, Alan Fields and Ralph McAdams), plus the seat formerly filled by Lambeth. His term had two years left to run.

District Administrator Renee Lundy said the board isn’t expected to again try to appoint a replacement at their next meeting, having unsuccessfully attempted to do that on June 21. The directors are expected, however, to formalize their wait-for-the-election decision with a resolution, she said, at their meeting July 19 . — Kathe Tanner
