Cambria Historical Society wonks figure the 20,000th visitor to the Cambria Historical Museum will step over the museum threshold Wednesday, the Fourth of July. No one knows who that person will be until he or she arrives on the scene and is greeted by the society Board of Directors, honored with a small champagne celebration, an honorary membership if not already a member, and a permanent brick in the walkway of the gardens to mark the occasion.
Docents have been keeping track of the numbers of tourists and locals alike since the museum began operations in December 2008.
The museum at the corner of Burton Drive and Center Street in Cambria’s East Village is typically open 1 to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday. For Independence day, it will be open from 2 to 4 p.m.
