Martha “Marty” Gale has been hired to replace Brittany Hensley as advertising account executive at The Cambrian.Gale has 30 years sales, marketing and management experience, primarily with magazine publishers.
The Atascadero High School graduate earned a degree in journalism at Cal State Fresno. She’s returning to the area after 25 years in Chicago.
Most recently, she was Midwest account manager for Hearst Magazines. Gale sold advertising in Good Housekeeping and Country Living magazines and on Hearst websites to clients including Eli Lilly, Procter & Gamble, Kraft, JCPenney, Hallmark and Allstate.Gale was also a publisher with Primedia; its publications include Cats, Dog World and Arabian Horse World.
She will handle sales of retail and real estate advertising for The Cambrian, as well as for The Tribune on the North Coast.Gale, who now lives in Paso Robles, joined The Cambrian sales team May 14.
Hensley is now a sales manager with The Tribune. Her new position includes oversight of advertising at The Cambrian. “We’re delighted to have Marty here,” Hensley said. “Her experience and enthusiasm will be of great value for the advertisers we serve.”
Gale said she’s excited to be “coming back home to the Central Coast where I grew up and to job that allows me to do so, and to the wonderful community of Cambria.”
Micah Stumbo will also be joining The Cambrian advertising staff. The Atascadero resident, a former Tribune employee, assisted with publication of the 2012-2013 Community Directory for Cambria, San Simeon and Harmony.
She’ll be replacing Michelle Williams-Rush, who is leaving to write for web content providers.
