WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY, AUG. 11-13

State Coastal Commission. 9 a.m. San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors Chambers, County Government Center, 1055 Monterey St. (831) 427- 4863. www.coastal.ca.gov/. Agenda includes appeals of permits to build three Harmony projects: A neighbor is appealing State Parks’ permit to improve the parking area and add signs, an information kiosk, bridge rails and an iron ranger fee collection tube at Harmony Headlands State Park; two commissioners and the Sierra Club are appealing a permit to remove an existing public access way and build a barn west of Highway 1, adjacent to the ocean near Cayucos; two commissioners have appealed a permit to build a 5,000-square-foot home, a 5,000-gallon water tank and various drainage and landscape improvements on a blufftop area at 500 Harmony Ranch Road about 2 miles south of Cambria. An existing home would be converted to a farm-support residence. Also on the agenda, the county’s requests for changes to its local coastal planning rules that provide the framework for the coastline.
