Cambria Grammar School was recently invited to take part in the Paso Robles Taco Bell Track meet, held every year for Paso Robles-area elementary schools.

Events included 50-, 100-, 200- and 400-meter runs, softball throw and long jump, as well as a relay race in which each of four team members runs 400 meters.

“Our school did amazing!” reports Cambria physical education teacher Musik

Makarow, who led the team. The Cambria girls relay team took sixth place and the boys were fourth.

Nick Culver placed first in the 200 and 400 meter runs; Nick Roper took third place in the long jump and 100 and 400 meter runs.

Cambria girls Kaleigh Malone, Eleri Perryman and Fabby Gonzalez took first, second and third, respectively, in the 200- meter run.

Makarow won’t be returning to the school due to budget cutbacks, but she said she’s hopeful the school will be able to attend the track meet in coming years.
