Cambria Historical Museum. Local history in the Guthrie-Bianchini House, a home dating back to 1870. Gift shop with books and mementos. Corner of Burton Drive and Center Street. Noon to 3 p.m. Friday through Monday. Free; donations welcome. Museum and gardens available for parties, weddings, meetings and other events. 927-2891, www.cambriahistoricalsociety.com. Food donation collection unopened canned foods and packages of dry food by the Lions Club of Cambria for local distribution. 2:30 to 4 p.m. Fridays in the yellow building in the Pinedorado Grounds parking lot for the Cambria Farmers Market at 1000 Main St. Items that need refrigeration or are past their expiration date cannot be accepted.

Help Is Available

Adult day care. Care and enrichment for clients and respite for families and caregivers. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Cambria Adult Resources, Education and Support, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2700 Eton Road, Cambria. 927-4290.

Alcoholics Anonymous: Noon to 1 p.m. Mondays; 7:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Fridays; and 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the Cambria Connection, 870 Main St. A women’s meeting is held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesdays at the Cambria Connection. 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the First Baptist Church, 2120 Green St. (Ardath Drive at Highway 1). A women’s meeting is held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturdays Community Presbyterian Church, 2250 Yorkshire Drive (just off Burton Drive west of the fire station). 8 to 9:30 p.m. the fourth Saturday of each month at Santa Rosa Catholic Church, 1174 Main St. Free; the only requirement is a desire to stop drinking. 927-0347.

Al-Anon: Meetings are held in Cambria from 5 to 6 p.m. Mondays and 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Cambria Connection, 870 Main St. Al-Anon is a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experiences, strength and hope. The only requirement for membership is that a member has been affected by some-one’s drinking. 927-5748 or 924-1832.

Cambria’s Anonymous Neighbors (CAN) offers free food distribution on the first and third Thursday of each month starting at 7 a.m. at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. 1174 Main St., Cambria. CAN also loans hospital equipment and provide transportation for medical appointments. 927-5673; P.O. Box 1797, Cambria 93428.

Caregivers for those with Alzheimer’s, memory loss or other dementias may meet with a caregiver consultant for the California Central Coast Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association at the Cambria Connection, 870 Main St., Cambria. Free. Appointment only; call 547-3830.

Caregivers Support Group for those who care for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease and other challenges related to aging. 9:30 to 11 a.m. the first and third Thursdays of the month in the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church library, 2700 Eton Road. Care is provided for the caregivers’ loved ones at the Cambria Adult Resources Education and Support (CARES) adult day program. 927-4290.

Compulsive Eaters Anonymous meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Cambria Connection, 870 Main St., Cambria. Compulsive Eaters Anonymous is a 12-step fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength and hope, are dealing with compulsive overeating. 546-1178.

Grief support group meets the first Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the library St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2700 Eton Road, Cambria. Anyone from the community who is experiencing loss is welcome to attend. Don Dallmann, 927-5807. Narcotics Anonymous: Meetings are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays at the Cambria Connection, 870 Main St. 549-7730.

Overeaters Anonymous meets weekly at the Cambria Connection, 870 Main St. Cambria. OA is a 12-step fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength and hope are recovering from compulsive overeating. The meeting is now held from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays. For more information, call 927-1832 or 924-1494.

Hearst Castle saw an increase in visitors in 2018 with the reopening of Highway 1 at Big Sur, California, following landslides in 2017. Cambria businesses also saw an uptick in numbers.
