‘Suessical’: The cat’s in the boa

‘We’ve made a terrible mistake!’ exclaims Stephanie Stacy. This revelation comes in the midst of dramatic hijinks as preparations proceed for the next Coast Union High School stage production. ‘Seussical the Musical’ will be presented Friday through Sunday, March 19 to 21 and 26 to 28 in the high school gym, 2950 Santa Rosa Creek Road. At a meeting of Cambria Rotary at Cambria Pines Lodge on Friday, Feb. 26, production promoters Stacy (at left) and Michelle Millward (right) falsely accuse Rotarian Becky Adams (center) of stealing a Bird Girl costume from the play’s wardrobe. However, a phone call during the altercation reveals the costume is found safe and sound, serving as a cushion for cast member Alex Zaragoza’s cat, April (right). Asked how the embarrassment can be made up to Adams, the accused coyly suggests, ‘Tickets for opening night will help smooth my ruffled feathers.’ Tickets are available at Coast Union High School and at the Cambria Chamber of Commerce, 767 Main St.
