East Village hauls out Elephant Seal Fest

C ambria’s East Village will celebrate the upcoming holiday weekend with a first-ever Elephant Seal Festival to honor the peak birthing season happening now at the North Coast’s seal rookery.

The festival will feature live entertainment Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 16 and 17, at the Burton Inn, 4022 Burton Drive.

Saturday, Bubba Ramey will lead off from noon to 2 p.m., and Jill Knight will perform from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Sunday, John Wessel starts at 10 a.m., Ramey’s back from noon to 2 p.m. and The Kicks perform from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Weiss artworks on display at Hamlet

Art by Cambria artist Clarence Weiss is featured in a show at The Hamlet at Moonstone Gardens, 7432 Exotic Garden Drive. A portion of sale proceeds benefits Friends of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve.

The show opened Jan. 7 and continues through March. 3. An opening reception will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22.
