Sheriff’s Deputy Ken Conway will lead a session at Coast Union High School for all school administrators and teachers in Coast Unified School District on responding to active shooters.
The session, set for 1 p.m. Oct. 12, will include about a half-dozen law enforcement personnel, most of them arriving in unmarked vehicles. There will be no use of unloaded weapons or “blank” ammunition, or any kind of simulation/scenario.
Oct. 12 will be a staff development day, and students will not be attending school on this day.
