A celebration of the life of singer-songwriter Sheri Geiger Odenwald will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at the Veterans Memorial Building, 1000 Main St., Cambria. The family expects to show a digital slideshow that includes photos and videos of Odenwald’s performances.
Odenwald, 70, died suddenly June 24 from a post-surgical pulmonary embolism.
Friends and family have launched a fund to help pay for memorial expenses. As of Tuesday, July 14, people already had donated to the fund $1,575 of the approximately $3,000 it will take to reserve and pay for the hall, plus other costs.

Many businesses and individuals are donating products and services, and musicians are visiting from all over to provide their talents to the celebration of life.
As Odenwald’s daughter Shannon Boundy wrote on the GoFundMe.com page, “Jill Knight and Ed at Central Coast Music are working very hard, volunteering their valuable time and equipment to accommodate the musicians to put on a show and celebration that will be so healing for our family and this town,” a place and its people that Odenwald considered to be her extended family.
