Good News about Foundation for the Performing Arts Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters of SLO County and Womenade

The Foundation for the Performing Arts Center, through inaugural Clifton Swanson PAC Community Access Fund, has awarded $27,300 in grants to nine community arts groups who are scheduled to perform at the PAC during the 2016-17 season.

Recipients of the first annual Clifton Swanson grants are:

Central Coast Dance and Music Academy, Cuesta Master Chorale, Festival Mozaic, Opera San Luis Obispo, Orchestra Novo, Civic Ballet SLO, SLO Symphony, SLO Vocal Arts Ensemble and the SLO Youth Symphony.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County was one of six agencies recently recognized at the 2016 National Conference Gala held in Orlando, Florida. The agency was recognized as Agency of the Year in the small to mid-sized agency alliance category for building strategy that led to diversified funding and low employee turnover and for helping to provide the best leadership for their community.

“These agencies and boards show extraordinary leadership and have huge impacts in the communities they serve,” said Pam Iorio, president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
