Good News about Los Osos U-14 Little League team, Karen Colombo, SLO Elks Lodge and SLO Skiers Club

SLO County

Karen Colombo was recently honored with the Legacy Award by Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo for her years of service to the youth mentoring agency.

Colombo has served on the board of directors for 10 years, including two years as board president, during which time overall board participation dramatically increased. Her many hours of dedicated service also include the last six years as event chair for The Big Event, an annual fundraiser for the agency.

San Luis Obispo

The San Luis Obispo Elks Lodge No. 322 recently took part in the annual Veterans Stand Down event that provides food, clothing, sleeping arrangements and services to homeless and at-risk veterans.

Lodge volunteers provided pet services and distributed socks and undergarments to servicemen, servicewomen and their families.

The San Luis Obispo Ski Club recently made a $250 donation to Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra.

DSES is a nonprofit dedicated to offering year-round outdoor sports and activities with adaptive equipment to disabled adults and children.
