Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation has received a gift of $887 from the Atascadero Community Band.
Thanks to audience donations at the band’s Latin Sizzle spring concert, the gift will sponsor four PRYAF students for an entire year.
The foundation fills a void left by school budget cuts by offering free visual and performing arts classes to area youth.

Fifteen nonprofit organizations have been awarded $5,000 each from United Way of San Luis Obispo County.
The grants were awarded to local nonprofit programs focused on education, mental health and counseling, nutrition, children, health care and literacy.
Funding for the grants came from United Way’s 2016-17 Community Impact Fund.

The Arroyo Grande Rotary Club’s recent 2nd Annual Harley-Davidson Raffle Fundraiser earned $36,500 for local nonprofits.
A Harley-Davidson vivid black 2016 Street Glide Special was the big prize and was won by James Hall of Lompoc.
Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the following Rotary charities and projects:
▪ Funding for local youth and educational support programs including college scholarships, Boys & Girls Club activities and youth performing arts programs at the Clark Center for the Performing Arts.
▪ Service Projects that create positive, lasting change in the community and worldwide.
