The Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo de Tolosa has named Laura Krueger 2015-16 Rotarian of the Year.

Krueger was selected for spearheading nearly $30,000 in contributions to the Rotary Foundation, a new record, according to an email from the club. She was recognized for an initiative encouraging all Rotary Club members to contribute at least $100 every year to support the foundation’s financial goals.

As foundation chair, Krueger oversaw Rotary de Tolosa’s financial contributions to Polio Plus, a Rotary campaign to immunize children against polio in 122 countries. She also organized donations for Ecuador Relief, which provided disaster-relief funds for survivors of Ecuador’s 7.8-magnitude earthquake.
