Good News about AAUW student scholarships, Sadie Mae Mace, Graham Farrell and Matthew Horne and Cassidy Moses

The Paso Robles branch of the American Association of University Women has awarded eight academic scholarships to local high school graduates who will attend four-year universities in the fall. Each student received $500.

The recipients are: Eden Peterson, Marlee Drake, Cassidy Moses, Nathalie Coletta and Caitlin Hopkins.

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) scholarship recipients are: Katya Ruiz, Alexis Nocerino and Hagar Elsayed.

Additionally, scholarships were awarded to middle school students Sidney Barker and Elizabeth Marriott to attend Tech Trek, a weeklong math/science camp sponsored by AAUW and held at UCSB.

Paso Robles Unit 50 American Legion Auxiliary and Paso Robles Post 50 American Legion recently announced its 2016 delegates to Girls State and Boys State, a weeklong intensive government studies program. Candidates are chosen based on their leadership qualities, academic honors and community service.

Paso Robles High School students Sadie Mae Mace, Graham Farrell and Matthew Horne were selected to be delegates to Girls State and Boys State, respectively.

Cassidy Moses of Paso Robles has received the Davidson College Presidential Scholarship as an incoming student at the North Carolina college.

Moses is the daughter of Michal and Celia Moses of Paso Robles and is a recent graduate of Paso Robles High School.
