2016 Cruisin’ Weekend brings road closures to Atascadero

Roads across Atascadero will temporarily close to traffic Friday and Saturday during 2016 Cruisin’ Weekend events, which include a parade, live music performances, and food and beer vendors.

From 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, the 24th annual Hot El Camino Cruise Nite will result in the closures of the following roads:

  • El Camino Real from Traffic Way to Curbaril Avenue
  • San Luis Avenue from Curbaril Avenue to Pueblo Avenue
  • Pueblo Avenue from San Luis Avenue to El Camino Real
  • Palma Avenue from East Mall to Traffic Way
  • East Mall from Lewis Avenue to El Camino Real
  • West Mall from Lewis Avenue to El Camino Real
  • Entrada Avenue from Lewis Avenue to El Camino Real

In addition, Highway 41 will be closed to through traffic at the intersection of El Camino Real and Morro Road. Traffic Way will remain open to northbound traffic on El Camino Real.

On Saturday, the city will host its Dancing in the Streets event, featuring live music performances scattered throughout the Colony District. Beginning at 2 p.m., the following roads will be closed to traffic:

  • East Mall from Lewis Avenue to El Camino Real
  • West Mall from Lewis Avenue to El Camino Real
  • Palma Avenue from East Mall to Traffic Way
  • Entrada Avenue from El Camino Real to Lewis Avenue

East Mall is scheduled to reopen at 7 p.m. A crossing guard will be positioned at the intersections of Palma Avenue and Traffic Way, as well as at Entrada Avenue and El Camino Real to guide pedestrian traffic. More information can be found at www.visitatascadero.com/events.
