Long beards will be back in fashion next month when blues rock band ZZ Top returns to Avila Beach.

The band behind the hit songs “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Legs” and “Sharp Dressed Man” will take the stage Sept. 29 at the Avila Beach Golf Resort.

Known for their iconic facial hair and instrumental prowess, ZZ Top guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard have been thrilling audiences since the early 1970s.

ZZ Top’s third album, 1973’s “Tres Hombres,” put the Texas trio on the map. In the following decade, three albums — 1981’s “El Loco,” 1983’s “Eliminator” and 1985’s “Afterburner” — cemented their fame.

ZZ Top was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

The band last played the Avila Beach Golf Resort in 2010, and they performed at the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles in 1999 and 2004 and Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles in 2013.

Tickets for the all-ages outdoor show cost $40 to $300. For information, call 805-540-3508 or visit www.avilabeachconcerts.com.
