2 injured in 3-vehicle collision west of SLO

Two passengers suffered injuries Wednesday afternoon and required extraction from a three-vehicle collision west of San Luis Obispo.

Emergency crews responded about 2:30 p.m to a crash near the intersection of Los Osos Valley Road and West Foothill Boulevard, according to Cal Fire.

Responders used the Jaws of Life to free two passengers, according to Cal Fire. One suffered major injuries, the other minor injuries.

Los Osos Valley Road was closed while crews rescued passengers and cleaned up the scene, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page. The CHP was expected to reopen the road about 4:45 p.m.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
