A crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 46 East near the Shandon rest area resulted in minor injuries, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatcher.

A person involved in the crash went to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton after complaining of pain, but the person was not admitted, the dispatcher said.

Authorities responded to a crash on Highway 46 East at the Shandon rest area Sunday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol dispatcher Rick Olson. The crash caused traffic delays on westbound Highway 46 East.

CHP received a report from a caller about 12:23 p.m. saying that a vehicle had hit a semi-truck that was exiting the rest area, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.

How many people were involved in the crash, and the extent of their injuries was unknown Sunday afternoon. Olson said it was likely that someone had been taken to the hospital, as officers were doing a follow-up at Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton.
