Summer Solstice celebration at Morro Bay State Park is hands-on fun for kids
Correction: A snake was misidentified in the photo captions on an earlier version of this story; it was a red-tailed boa.
Morro Bay State Park celebrated the first weekend of summer with a Summer Solstice Celebration on Saturday.
State Parks docents helped visitors with activities that included stamping and making animal tracks. Guests were also invited to learn about conservation and protection of threatened species.
The stars of the afternoon were the animals that were there. Children enjoyed the opportunity to handle snakes, lizards, insects and more.
