Arroyo Grande is holding its first ever “Family Fun Day” on Saturday to encourage kids and families to get outside and play together.

The city Recreation Services Department and the Arroyo Grande Lions Club will host the free event at the Soto Sports Complex from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to encourage families to step away from their electronic devices for some “old-fashioned fun” outdoors, according to recreation director John Rogers.

The event will include carnival games, a bounce house, a hot dog and tri-tip sandwich barbecue, selfie photo booth, Kona Ice, popcorn, face painting, demos from local businesses, crafts, water balloon tosses, three-legged races, sack races and family games such as Twister and lawn checkers.

Admission is free, though concessions and some activities like the bounce house have separate costs.
