Empty Bowls luncheon for homelessness needs volunteers

The 5Cities Homeless Coalition is looking for volunteers for its fifth annual Empty Bowls Community Luncheon, which takes place Sept. 22.

The annual event benefits those facing homelessness and poverty in the South County. Last year’s Empty Bowls Community Luncheon raised more than $28,000. Event planners are hoping to surpass the $30,000 mark this year.

The coalition needs artists to create the more than 600 bowls used at the event, as well as sponsors and luncheon volunteers.
