Volunteers should meet in front of the Pavilion on the Lake, 9315 Pismo Ave., at 8:30 a.m. and expect to work until noon. No advance sign-ups are required.
Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves, a hat, and water as well as clippers, loppers, rakes or other trimming and clearing tools.
Meanwhile, a herd of goats has been tasked with weeding the overgrown vegetation inside the dry lakebed through November as part of ongoing efforts by the city and Friends group to fix up the drought-stricken lake before winter rains return.
