Caltrans will close Highway 41 from Highway 33 in Kings County to the Highway 46 interchange north of Cholame on Oct. 20.
Maintenance crews will perform guardrail repair, roadway shoulder improvements, pavement delineation replacements, vegetation control and roadway sweeping operations, according to a Caltrans news release.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured via Highway 33 to Highway 46. This detour will add an additional 27 miles to the regular commute for a total of a 50-mile detour.
The following detours will be in effect on Oct. 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
