8-year-old killed in ATV crash in Paso Robles

An 8-year-old girl was killed in an ATV crash in Heritage Ranch in Paso Robles on Thursday evening, the CHP said.

According to the CHP collision report, the driver of a 2014 Polaris Razor lost control of the vehicle about 6:50 p.m. while traveling south at an unknown speed on Heritage Loop Road within the private community of Heritage Ranch. The driver, Joshua Lee Weaver, 36, was injured with abrasions to his head, left hand and legs.

Both Weaver and the juvenile passenger were sitting in the driver’s seat without seat belts, the CHP said. They were ejected from the vehicle when it rolled onto its left side, the CHP said.

The 8-year-old passenger was taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, where she died at 7:59 p.m.
