Fire broke out at an Atascadero mobile home Saturday, causing an estimated $250,000 in damage, according to Fire Capt. Bill White.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
On Saturday morning, firefighters received several calls reporting the fire at Rancho Del Bordo Mobile Home Park, in the 10000 block of El Camino Real in Atascadero. When crews arrived at 11:29 a.m., they found the back of the double-wide mobile home engulfed in flames. The fire had also spread to two nearby mobile homes, a wooden fence and vegetation, according to a news release.
Firefighters extinguished the fires in the two nearby mobile homes and vegetation; it took them 45 minutes to contain the main fire. The Gas Company had to dig up the asphalt road in front of the mobile home to access the gas line and shut down the system.
