Cycling activities for kids were showcased Saturday in downtown Paso Robles during the fifth annual Kids' Bike Rodeo.

The event, previously called Kidz Ride Paso, was renamed this year and held in conjunction with Paso Robles Main Street Association’s Trading Day and Kids’ Flea Market in the Downtown City Park.

The Bike Rodeo featured a bike skills handling course, helmet and bike safety checks, a bike decorating booth and a professional BMX stunt show.

“We have many adult events in our area, and while there are soccer, baseball, football leagues, etc., there are not many specific kids events, especially geared to the 4- to 10-year-old age group,” said event co-organizer Steve Fleury, who owns Best Bike Zone, a bike shop at 712 Paso Robles St. in Paso Robles.

Other organizers of the Kids' Bike Rodeo were the city of Paso Robles and the REC Foundation, a nonprofit.
