Firefighters responded to a fire at an apartment building in Paso Robles on Friday, containing the blaze within 13 minutes before it spread beyond the kitchen in one unit.
No one was home in the eight-unit building in the 1200 block of Alamo Creek Terrace when firefighters responded at 10:06 a.m. and found a “well-involved fire” in the kitchen of an upstairs unit, said Battalion Chief Keith Aggson with the Paso Robles Fire Department.
The fire was contained within 13 minutes and extinguished in less than an hour, Aggson said. Firefighters with the Atascadero Fire Department and Cal Fire assisted the Paso Robles department.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire damage was limited to the kitchen, although smoke and heat damage spread throughout the building, Aggson said.
