KVEC radio station knocked off air by high winds

News Talk 920 KVEC was temporarily off the air Wednesday because of damage to its transmitter site.

According to KVEC programming director Andrew Cannon, high wind caused "substantial damage" at the radio station's tower site Tuesday night. The station is home to Dave Congalton and other local talk-radio programming.

As of 4 p.m., the station was still off air and crews were working to fix the damage, Cannon said. Programming was still available to listeners on the station's website, 920kvec.com, or through its mobile app.

The station is expected to be back on air before Thursday's programming, Cannon said.
