The fireworks stand permit process for selling “safe and sane fireworks” for the Fourth of July is scheduled to open Tuesday in Grover Beach.
Applications can be picked up at the City Clerk’s Office at 154 S. Eighth St. in Grover Beach or online at http://www.grover.org, according to a city news release.
The application must be filed with the City Clerk’s Office between Tuesday and May 29 during normal business hours. City Hall offices will be closed May 26 for Memorial Day.
Only Grover Beach-based nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply. The organization’s principal and permanent meeting place must be in Grover Beach and have been established there for a minimum of three continuous years to file an application for a permit.
A maximum of four fireworks stands will be permitted within the city limits, and no organization may obtain more than one permit.
The sale of fireworks will be allowed at approved fireworks stands for a seven-day period from noon June 28 through noon July 5.
