The Morro Bay City Council has endorsed the city’s Local Economic Action Plan initiatives developed by more than 100 businesses and community leaders and residents.
At its Tuesday meeting, the council approved the allocation of up to $20,000 in immediately available funds for implementing the initiatives designed to spur business growth and create more tax revenue for the city of Morro Bay.
The plan is being coordinated by 10 action teams, each assembled to implement specific areas of the plan.
The efforts include speeding up permitting processes for targeted businesses; rethinking events to better serve residents, businesses and visitors; creating an inventory of commercial properties to expand and attract targeted businesses; and engaging in outreach to attract businesses to come to Morro Bay.
The next phase, between April and September, is to implement the ideas.
