Construction is underway on the expansion of the Los Osos Valley Road overpass on Highway 101.
A heads-up to nighttime drivers: Highway 101 at Los Osos Valley Road is scheduled for various closures between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. starting Sunday, March 29, until Friday morning, April 3.
Closures will include lanes of the highway, on- and off-ramps and the full freeway, according to a news release from San Luis Obispo. During the closures, temporary supports for construction of the new overcrossing bridge will be erected, which cannot be done over traffic on the highway for safety reasons.
Signs will direct motorists to any detours.
The closures include the following:
On Monday, one northbound and one southbound lane will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.;
On Tuesday, one northbound lane will be closed from 8 to 10 p.m., and then both northbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. (a detour will be set up for motorists to exit at South Higuera Street and reenter at Prado Road);
On Wednesday, one southbound lane will be closed from 8 to 10 p.m., and then both southbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. (with the detour at Los Osos Valley Road);
On Thursday, there will be various lane closures as needed.
- On Sunday, the northbound onramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.;
