An Indiana woman died Saturday evening north of Cambria when her car veered off the road and hit a tree. Her husband, who was sitting in the passenger seat, received moderate injuries, according to a news release.
Around 9 p.m., Indiana residents Melody M. Logsdon, 57, and Randall Logsdon, 59, were traveling south on Highway 1 north of Cambria Drive at an unknown speed when the 2014 Subaru Impreza veered left across the northbound lane. It left the east edge of the road, traveling to the bottom of a descending dirt and grass embankment before hitting a large tree with the vehicle’s entire left side, the news release said.
California Highway Patrol spokesperson Pat Seebart was unable to release more details about the cause of the crash as of Monday. The investigation is ongoing.
Physical evidence at the scene showed no sign of evasive action taken by the driver. No other vehicles were involved.
