The city of Paso Robles will host a celebration next week in honor of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
The free event, which coincides with King's birthday and federal holiday, is titled “The Color of Unity, Change Begins with Self.”
It will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 17 at the auditorium of Flamson Middle School, 2405 Spring St.
The event will feature a motivational speech by local minister Elder Charlie Reed as well as performances by the Cuesta College Theatre Arts, Youth Arts Foundation and the God Squad Dance Crew. The MLK Community Choir, composed of singers from several local groups, will also perform.
Monetary donations for Loaves & Fishes in Paso Robles will be accepted.
