A Paso Robles man has been arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving in a Highway 41 collision near Hanford on Saturday, the CHP said.
Jeffrey Rougeot, 47, was headed north on Highway 41 just before midnight when he allegedly made a U-turn into the path of Natalia Castellano, 36, who was headed south. She was unable to avoid a crash.
Both drivers were transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with major injuries.
Castellano was in critical condition and Rougeot was in serious condition, hospital spokeswoman Mary Lisa Russell said Monday night.
Castellano’s two passengers, a 1-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, were in car seats and suffered minor injuries, the CHP said.
