Cal Poly hosts film on California's environmental history

A film exploring California’s environmental history will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Cal Poly’s Spanos Theatre.

The documentary narrated by Jane Fonda is free and open to the public.

The documentary is broken up into three parts: “Assembling California,” “Reinventing California,” and “Reconciling California.” A question-and-answer session will take place after the screening with producer/director Kit Tyler and executive producer Jeffrey White.

The film examines how society has shaped our environment, showing the transition from the state’s original natural state to increasing human populations and resource exploitation. Acclaimed jazz artist Pat Metheny composed the musical score for the film.
