Motorcyclist suffers ‘debilitating injuries’ in Grover Beach crash

A vehicle collision in Grover Beach sent a male motorcyclist to the hospital Sunday with what police described as “debilitating injuries.”

Police, firefighters and San Luis Ambulance paramedics responded to the area of North Fourth Street and Atlantic City Avenue shortly after 1:30 p.m. on reports that a motorcycle and another vehicle were involved in a crash.

When emergency personnel arrived, police discovered the driver of a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle partially under a 1985 Volkswagen van. The motorcyclist was suffering from severe injuries and was taken to the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital for treatment, according to a news release from the Grover Beach Police Department.

The man was later taken to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.

Police did not identify the motorcyclist.

The occupants of the vehicle were not injured.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
