Motorcyclist killed in crash in Santa Margarita

A motorcyclist is dead following an accident in Santa Margarita on Wednesday morning.

The CHP reported that at about 10:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of an injury crash on Huer Huero Road about 3 miles south of Highway 58.

When they arrived, they found the unidentified motorcyclist, who was riding a 1993 Harley-Davidson without a helmet, was traveling north at about 50 mph when he attempted to pass a vehicle and lost control of his bike.

The 56-year old motorcyclist, who has not been identified pending notification of family, was ejected and suffered fatal head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol or drugs are not suspected to have played a role in the crash, the CHP said.
