A rally will be held Oct. 8 in Shell Beach to show support for Measure H, which would limit what types of development could take place in the Price Canyon area east of Pismo Beach.
The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seaside Café, 1327 Shell Beach Road.
Three of the six Pismo Beach City Council candidates are scheduled to attend, including Kevin Kreowski, who is running for mayor; Marcia Guthrie; and Sheila Blake. Guthrie and Blake are members of Save Price Canyon, a group formed to preserve the area.
Measure H would allow dry farming, grazing, parks, trails, schools, public buildings and limited residential development in the Price Canyon area. The land use rules would only apply to projects annexing into the city of Pismo Beach.
The rally is sponsored by Effie McDermott, Bill Lockwood and Tarren Collins. For more information, call McDermott at 773-4854. Donations will be accepted at the rally or can be mailed to H-14, c/o Richard Foster, 1178 Longview Ave., Pismo Beach, CA 93449.
