PG&E will hold public meetings on Diablo Canyon earthquake studies

Pacific Gas and Electric will hold two open house sessions Thursday to discuss its recently released earthquake safety studies regarding Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant.

Both sessions will be held at the utility’s energy education center at 6588 Ontario Road, San Luis Obispo.

The open house sessions will run from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. They will feature presentations by senior plant managers and seismologists. Question and answer sessions will follow.

Earlier this month, PG&E released the results of an advanced seismic safety analysis of the plant. It concluded that the facility remains seismically safe and able to withstand the largest potential earthquakes in the region.
