Arroyo Grande police located Nancy Brown, the missing Arroyo Grande woman, about 10:30 a.m. in the hills west of her last known sighting.
Police said in a news release that the reserve-911 message produced the lead or leads that led to her recovery.
She will be transported to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital to be treated for a possible broken foot and abrasions.
Arroyo Grande police are searching for an 83-year-old Arroyo Grande woman who has been missing since Wednesday evening.
Police said that Nancy Brown walked away from her home in the 200 block of Sunrise Terrace about 6:30 p.m.
She suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s and is easily confused and disoriented, according to a news release. Efforts to locate her have so far been unsuccessful, though there were two possible sightings reported after the county sheriff’s office’s reverse-911 program was activated.
Brown was last wearing a yellow jacket and beige slacks, and a sandy blond-colored wig. She is five feet, six inches tall, 142 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes, according to police.
Some Arroyo Grande residents received reverse 911 calls about 11:20 p.m. Wednesday. Another reserve call came in about 4:30 a.m., according to the Five Cities Fire Authority.
