UPDATE 7 p.m.: Darrel Robert Bennett was found safe late Tuesday afternoon, according to Paso Robles police, who then arrested him on unrelated charges.
Bennett was located around 5:45 p.m. driving near Highway 46 West and Theatre Drive in Paso Robles, according to a news release from the Police Department. He was evaluated and determined to be no longer suicidal, police said.
Officers then detained Bennett as part of an unrelated criminal investigation, according to police, and arrested him.
After being processed at the Paso Robles Police Department, Bennett will be booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of domestic violence, false imprisonment and possession of a controlled substance, all felonies, as well as possession of narcotics paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, according to the news release.

Original story: The Paso Robles Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing person who has threatened to commit suicide, according to the Police Department.
Darrel Robert Bennett, 47, of Atascadero was last seen around 1 a.m. on Aug. 8 leaving the area of the 500 block of Creston Road in his vehicle.
Bennett is described as approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall and roughly 210 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.
His vehicle is described as a gold-colored 2001 Toyota Camry four-door sedan with a California license plate number of 7DMG158.
